I've been catching up with Avatar on YouTube, and it's just hilarious! Both Sokka and Uncle Iroh are so amazing that I keep changing my mind about who I like best. And the rest of the cast (minus a couple annoying villains) are quite likable as well. If you like cartoons, I'd highly recommend it.
Also, new icon! Made by iniaes. It's a quote from Volly in Naomi Novik's Temeraire series, which I also highly recommend. The setting is the Napoleon era, with dragons! I was completely obsessed with dragons when I was younger and read all the Pern books, but this is a dragon series that is actually top quality writing and thoughtful world building. The main character is a very proper and dignified man of the British Navy who he ends up becoming the young dragon Temeraire's companion in the Aerial Corps. Despite his attention to etiquette and decorum his narration is not stuffy or boring because he is good at summarizing and not focusing on extraneous details and also is a adorably transparent in his narrative biases. He turns out to be very warm and surprisingly open minded. And then there is Temeraire himself, who is probably the best dragon character ever. He gets Laurence (main character guy) to read to him at night and he's all innocently questioning of the principles that the society is built on and just all around awesome. The first book is His Majesty's Dragon, and I would recommend it to anyone.
