The ends of things always leave in a strange wistful mood. Today Liz and I finished the Fushigi Yuugi OVA and Fruits Basket, and then I came home and read the last chapter of The Farthest Shore. It's the last in Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea trilogy. I couldn't find the other two, but I have read them even though I barely remember, so I started in on this one last week at the dentist's. Beautiful. It is purely beautiful. I have been finding myself less and less interested in the fantasy genre lately, but this reawakened it for me.

In the last two weeks I've seen lots of family and most of the friends that aren't JMU friends. Now most of you are going back to school. Have a good year! Although I'll surely see you again before its over, it may be a while. *hugs*

More randomly, I finally got to see Battlestar Galactica again on last Friday with "The Farm." Man, I love this show. I love Starbuck. Have I said that before? Because I really do love her. Jaime Bamber (Apollo's actor) did a really great job too. I don't usually pay him some much mind because, well, everyone else is usually more exciting. But there were moments this episode when he was really great. You could see emotions chase each other across his face and then be smoothed away. The whole Battlestar cast seems to me to be incredibly great actors. They are in such intense situations and always so compelling with very few exceptions. I'll stop babbling now or I'll get into spoilery discussion. I know not many of you watch this, but you really should. It's not just scifi, it's a drama and a war story with elements of romance and even some humor. Even if you don't like the bumpy cam it'll grow on you. That said, it is rather dark and definitely an adult show, with more than its fair share of sex and violence. Not that that'll be in every episode, but it could be. It airs on SciFi on Fridays at 10:00 and 1:00. And it'll be confusing if you jump in right now, but I'd be happy to explain a bit of what's going on.
