My Ever-So-Exciting Summer 12:24 pm
On the one hand, I feel like I should record my life because I have a bad memory. On the other hand, I'm lazy. Here is a summary of the high points of the last few weeks.

To make things more interesting, a picture: )

Made Kelly come see me. She was lovely in her new green bikini and we rescued local wildlife from the pool.

Made Kendra come see me. We defeated a giant evil spider that ran around in the pool, watched toons, and went to the Asian Market (and rescued a turtle from the pool). I didn't manage to get the right sauce for broccoli after all, but it's still useful for other things. And I got your card! :) I'll send one to you soon.

Mom took a day off and we hung out downtown and bought new video games since Mom finds Final Fantasy incredibly boring. Ate lunch at Dragon Lady, and it was good.

Had an end of the school year pool party for the kids and their classmates, which Thomas oh-so-thoughtfully planned himself and scheduled for while Mom was at work. But I actually enjoyed myself socializing with the mothers that stayed to watch their kids. They were trying so hard to be friendly that it wasn't difficult to talk.

And I'm going to Seattle in about two weeks, and staying a month. Looking forward to seeing you, Dad. It's been a while.

Had a few weird dreams. In one I went to sleep and as I closed my eyes I opened my real eyes and woke up in bed. Then I went back to sleep and dreamed I went down to breakfast and discovered that Mom and I had had the same dream. Last night, dreamt that I went to visit Kendra, but we got separated, and I was stuck on a bus with your brother and three sisters but you weren't there. :(

I keep expecting my sleep schedule to even out, that by getting up early (7:00-7:30) I'll start going to bed early. It hasn't worked.

TV, Books, Videogames 12:39 pm
And a separate entry for talking about random review-y stuff.

I think I mentioned that I found a Bookcrossing book. C. J. Cherryh's Invader. Invader and Chanur books )

Also, I've started watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. It shows on Nik at Fridays. It's certainly not the best show ever, but I think it's pretty good, and the kids like it too so we can watch together when they're here. The animation's good, definitely a high budget show. Unfortunately this week Avatar and SG: Atlantis (with an ep I hadn't seen) were on at the same time. Woe! Rodney facing death won, of course, but Avatar had pirates, so I am miffed.

Speaking of Stargate: Atlantis, I've discovered I really like this show. Somehow, it grew on me. Been watching some old SG1 eps too, and came to the conclusion that they are really hit or miss. There was one where an alien program took over Sam's body, which was very blah, and another, Ascension, where Sam gets an ascended admirer, what I rather liked.

Caught an episode of Samurai Champloo on Adult Swim. It was so beautiful on the big screen!

And when Kendra was here we saw the short preview for Naruto. Made me actually squee over the series, which I haven't done in a while. Maybe I'll catch up on it someday. I here Steve Blum (Spike Spiegal, Mugen) is Kakashi, and I think he'd be great at it.

And Mom and I have been playing Spyro: A Hero's Tale. We like it. It plays a lot like Jak and Daxter, but with brighter colors. Plus, you get to breath fire. That's always fun.
